CILICIA, Tarsus. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ (35mm, 22.97 g, 6h). Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Hercules standing facing, head left, holding club set on ground and the Apples of the Hesperides; to left, serpent Ladon entwined around tree. Voegtli 7f; Stoll 56; cf. SNG Levante Supp. 285 (for obv.; same obv. die); SNG France 1669 var. (placement of AMKΓB on rev.; same obv. die). VF, earthen dark-green patina, small scuff showing trace of bare metal on obverse.
